After ECI’s approval; J&K Govt orders transfer, posting of 9 officers

JAMMU, Aug 31: On the approval of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the transfer and posting of 9 officers, one of them IAS, two IPS, 5 JKPS and one JKAS.
Earlier, on August 28, the Commission directed the transfer of Senior Superintendents of Police of Baramulla and Kupwara and the SP of Handwara and asked the administration to send a panel of IPS officers to be posted there.
The Commission also directed relieving of SSP Srinagar Ashish Mishra, an IPS officer who was transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi Police in June 2023 but could not be relieved due to administrative reasons.
The Commission directed the Union Territory administration to provide a panel of IPS officers for the post of SP/SSP Srinagar, Baramulla, Handwara and Kupwara by August 29 evening.
It also cleared the appointment of IPS officer Nalin Prabhat as DG (Operations and Security) of J&K Police till September 30. He is currently on inter-cadre deputation and posted as Special DG, J-K till September 30.
The Commission also gave its go ahead to the extension of inter-cadre deputation tenure of IAS officer Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid, the Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag, for a period of two years.

Consequent upon the approval of the Commission, the J&K Government ordered that Gurinderpal Singh, SSP Baramulla, shall be posted as incharge Director, Police Telecommunication relieving Manoj Kumar Pandita, AIG Training & Policy of additional charge of the post and Shobhit Saxena, SSP Kupwara, shall be posted as SSP Headquarters CID against an available vacancy.
Further, Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, SSP (TMG) CID Headquarters, has been transferred and posted as SSP Srinagar vice Ashish Kumar Mishra, who shall await further postings at Police Headquarters, Mohammad Zaid, Commandant JKAP 11 Battalion, has been transferred and posted as SSP Baramulla vice Gurinderpal Singh, Ghulam Jeelani Wani, Commandant IRP 5th Battalion, has been transferred and posted as SSP Kupwara vice Shobhit Saxena, Dawood Ayoub, SP Handwara, has been transferred and posted as SSP (TMG) CID Headquarters vice Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, and Ifroz Ahmad, Deputy CO IR-5th Battalion, has been transferred and posted as SP Handwara vice Dawood Ayoub.
Another order said that Faz Lul Haseeb, Deputy Commissioner Shopian, has been transferred and posted as Managing Director, J&K Tourism Development Corporation relieving Vivekanand Rai, Director Tourism Jammu of the additional charge, and Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, Director Forensic Science Laboratory, J&K, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner Shopian.
