Jammu, Aug 31: As consensus eludes among names of potential nominees the Congress high command has yet not finalized candidates for the crucial second and third phase of the Assembly elections.
After withdrawing the initial list the BJP released the names of candidates for the second and third phases of the elections with minor changes but the Congress leadership has not muster guts to release the list of candidates for these two phases.
Highly placed sources said that fearing backlash like the BJP, the Congress leadership has decided to release the list of candidates at the eleventh hour of the date of filing of nominations to avoid revolt in the party.
Sources said that almost all ticket aspirants in the Congress party are camping in New Delhi to utilize their resources to get the party mandate.

The Election Commission on Thursday issued a notification for the filing of nomination papers by the candidates for the second phase of the elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir scheduled to start from the third week of September.
As per the notification, the last date for filing the nomination will be September 5, while scrutiny will be done on September 6. The last date for the withdrawal of candidatures is September 9.
