Jammu, Sep 9: Sat Sharma CA, who has been denied party mandate, has been appointed as working president of the party. Sat Sharma, a former J&K BJP Chief from 2015 to 2018, successfully contested the 2014 assembly elections from Jammu West and served as a cabinet minister in April 2018. A staunch RSS ideologue and Chartered Accountant by profession, Sharma comes from a family of freedom fighters and was imprisoned during the Emergency for protesting against the government. Having started his active political career in 1997, Sat Sharma had also held several positions in the party and worked to strengthen it at all levels as treasurer, general secretary, in-charge BJP cells, Secretary, election campaign committee of BJP from time to time. In his professional career he has also remained Secretary, J&K Branch of NIRC of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1995 and its chairman in 1997. A prolific reader and writer, Sat Sharma has also remained general secretary of Trikuta Sankalp, a Hindi magazine. He is presently working in J&K Economic Growth and Development Dialogue (LEAD) and has contributed a lot. After assuming his new role, Sharma was welcomed with enthusiasm at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, where he reviewed the party’s election campaign activities and addressed party workers, urging them to work towards a decisive victory for the BJP in the upcoming elections. |
