Army assists in controlling fire near LoC

SRINAGAR, Nov 29: The Indian Army deployed close to the Line of Control in the Uri area of Baramulla district extended its assistance to extinguish a fire that broke out in a residential house last evening. Army said that their unit deployed at Bandi was mobilized instantly after a fire broke out in a residential house in Lagama, Uri late in the evening, posing a significant risk to the lives and property of the residents.
“Upon receiving information about the fire, Indian Army personnel from the Bandi post immediately mobilized and reached the site. Coordinating seamlessly with local firefighters from Uri and the local populace, the Army’s quick response prevented the fire from spreading further and mitigated the damage,” the statement said.
The combined efforts of the Army personnel, fire services, and the community resulted in the successful containment of the fire.
The Indian Army also assisted in evacuating residents from the affected area, ensuring their safety and providing immediate relief.
The locals expressed their gratitude for the prompt and efficient action of the Indian Army, which showcased its commitment to the welfare of the people in the region.
