Multi-crore misappropriation case : CB files final chargesheet

Jammu, Dec 2: Crime Branch has filed final chargesheet in multi-crore misappropriation case of Channi Jammu before the Ld. Court of Law for judicial determination after effecting recovery of whole misappropriated amount and completing the investigation.
On 19th of July 2022 , a case FIR No. 118/2022 u/s 420,406, 408,109 IPC was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat Jammu on the written complaint of Executive Director Jamkash Vehicleads Pvt. Ltd. to the effect that the accused Sheraz Mir S/O Mohd.Bashir R/O Shant Nagar Janipur Jammu ,then working as Accountant of Jamkash Vehicleads had committed criminal breach of trust & cheating by transferring huge amount to the tune of Rs. 1.32 crores in his own bank accounts from the funds of Jamkash Vehicleads Pvt.Ltd and further invested the same amount for online betting. Accused Sheraz Mir was arrested, about 22 lakh misappropriated amount was recovered and preliminary charge sheet against the accused was filed by District Police in the court of law for judicial determination.
As a huge recovery of misappropriated amount was yet to be made, PHQ J&K on 13th of July, 2023, transferred the instant case to Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu for in-

epth investigation and accordingly CB started thorough probe. The investigation of the case was speeded up and Crime Branch thoroughly analysed the suspected bank accounts of the accused. Soon after further clues struck, CB team conducted raids at several premises in Indore & Delhi and succeeded in recovering entire remaining misappropriated amount to the tune of rupees 1.10 crores which is a major achievement on the part of CB. Thus, whole amount misappropriated by the accused i.e Rs 1.32 Crores has been recovered and received by the complainant.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh has congratulated the investigating team for commendable work done by making recovery of whole misappropriated amount and completing the investigation in time-bound manner. SSP further confirmed that final chargesheet in case FIR No. 118/2022 U/S 406, 408 IPC has been filed by Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu before Ld. Court of Special Mobile Magistrate Passenger Tax Shops & Estb. Act Jammu for judicial determination and whole misappropriated amount to the tune of Rs 1.32 crores has been recovered from the accused which has been handed over to the complainant following proper legal procedure.
