2 Hurriyat groups pledge allegiance to India
3/25/2025 11:53:28 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 25: In a significant political development, two constituents of the Hurriyat Conference renounced separatism and pledged allegiance to India.
Two Hurriyat-affiliated organizations—the Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) and the Democratic Political Movement (DPM)—had announced their decision to severe ties with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
Declaring a complete break from the Hurriyat, JKPM Chairman Shahid Saleem renounced separatism and reaffirmed his allegiance to India and its Constitution.
“I am a loyal citizen of India, and both my organization and I owe complete allegiance to the Constitution of India,” he stated in a handout issued to select media outlets.
Saleem made it clear that neither he nor his organization supports the ideology of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
“My organization and I have no affiliation with any entity that directly or indirectly works against India and its interests. We fully uphold the Constitution of India,” he reiterated.
He further emphasized: “I, Shahid Saleem, Chairman of JKPM, hereby solemnly declare that neither my organization nor I have any connection with APHC(G), APHC(A), or any of their constituents, nor with any group pursuing a separatist agenda.”
Similarly, Democratic Political Movement leader Mohammad Shafi Reshi distanced himself from separatist politics, affirming that his organization has no ties with the Hurriyat Conference or any separatist faction.
