Early Times Report

Srinagar, Mar 25: The Jammu and Kashmir government said on Tuesday that 67 out of the total 110 posts for Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors are vacant at GMC Udhampur.
Replying to a question of MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta, Health and Medical Education Department Minister Sakina Itoo said that the post of Principal GMC Udhampur is vacant as of now, on account of superannuation of the previous
incumbent. She said that the filling up of the same is under consideration.
“All entry-level posts have been referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for advertisement and selection of suitable candidates,” Itoo said, adding that vacant posts are being filled on an academic arrangement basis, as per SO 364 of 2020, while consultants from the Health Services Department are being assigned to GMC Udhampur based on their specialization,” she said.
The health minister added that out of 287 sanctioned gazetted posts, 111 are currently filled, while 173 remain vacant.
Among the 110 faculty posts, 43 are filled, and 67 are vacant. Furthermore, out of 522 non-gazetted posts, only 9 are filled, leaving 513 vacant, and of 62 non-technical posts, 57 are unfilled, she said, adding that of 405 paramedical posts, 401 are vacant, and all 55 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts are unfilled.
