Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 29: Border Security Force is proudly celebrating its Diamond Jubilee and 61st Raising Day on 1st December 2025. BSF Jammu is manning approximately 200 km of the International Border (IB) with Pakistan and is also deployed along the Line of Control (LC) alongside the Indian Army. During 2025, BSF Jammu played a key role in Operation Sindoor, an Indian security operation, while simultaneously facing multiple challenges emanating from Pakistan, including cross-border firing, infiltration attempts, narcotics smuggling, and drone operations. True to its tradition, BSF Jammu effectively thwarted all such adversarial attempts, foiled nefarious designs, and contributed significantly to the success of Operation Sindoor. Key achievements of BSF Jammu in Operation Sindoor include: Foiling a major infiltration bid from Pak Village Dhandar opposite Samba, neutralizing 07 terrorists. Destruction of three launch pads (Bhaironath, Mastpur, Looni). Engagement of 118 Pakistani Posts (72 BOPs and 46 FDLs). During 2025, key operational achievements include the neutralization of three Pakistani intruders and the apprehension of six intruders who attempted to violate the International Border. BSF troops seized 9.563 kg of narcotics and apprehended five drug peddlers during the year. BSF troops recovered 05 Drones/UAV. Based on inputs provided by the BSF intelligence branch, on 19 September security forces recovered one AK-47 rifle, four magazines, 163 AK rounds, and 20 hand grenades from Mandhar Nallah, Village Mandhar, Tehsil Haveli, Poonch on the LC. On 29 June, BSF troops apprehended LeT guide Mohd Arib Ahmed S/O Mohd Yusuf R/O Village Dadote Palani, Nikial, Kotli (PoK) at FDL, Manjakote, Rajouri. During floods in the Jammu region, BSF troops rescued 69 civilians, including 61 civilians by BSF Helicopter. Additional humanitarian efforts included: 49 Medical Camps benefiting 7680 locals 15 Veterinary Camps treating 1762 animals Training programs for Village Defence Guards (VDGs) were conducted, and 609 VDG members were trained to enhance community protection, situational awareness, and ability to counter security threats. Several welfare programs for the border population were conducted, including: Blood Donation Camps - 11 Civic Action Programmes - 60 Skill Development Programmes - 15 Pre-Recruitment Training - 04 Honey Bee Farming Training - 04 Nasha Mukti Programmes - 13 Bharat Darshan Tours - 03 Village Coordination meetings - 296 Medical Camps - 16 (In addition to 49 organised during floods) Veterinary Camps - 02 (In addition to 15 organised during floods) With the proactive efforts of the BSF, two Indian nationals were successfully reunited with their families. The BSF coordinated with local police, village headmen, and the individuals' family members to ensure that those who had unintentionally approached the international border were safely handed over to their families. BSF Rajouri assists Mandi villager by providing Tents and essential aid. Frontier HQ Jammu successfully organized the 1st Jammu BSF Marathon 2025 on 09 November 2025, witnessing vibrant participation from border residents, civilians from across states, foreign athletes, and BSF personnel. The marathon fostered fitness, national integration, and showcased the unwavering dedication of BSF in safeguarding the nation's borders. BSF Jammu Frontier won the Maharana Pratap Trophy for Best Frontier in Border Management (2024-2025) for the fourth consecutive year, and the Ashwani Kumar Trophy for Best Frontier in Training & Sports Activities (2024-2025) for the third consecutive year - a remarkable recognition of the dedication, professionalism, and excellence of Jammu Frontier and its proud Seema Praharis. Frontier Jammu has continuously encouraged sports among BSF personnel, enhancing fitness and professionalism. The Frontier secured the following positions in Inter-Frontier Training & Sports Competitions: First Position: Hockey, Bodybuilding, Volleyball, Powerlifting, Wrestling (Free Style), Aquatics, Cross Country, Wushu, Judo, Gymnastics, Taekwondo, Arm Wrestling, Handball, Computer awareness competition & Bomb Disposal Competition. Runners-Up: Wrestling (Greco Roman), Boxing, Weightlifting, Athletics, Cycling, Basketball, Kabaddi & Yoga (Men & Women), Bugle Competition & Band Competition.
