Early Times Report RAMBAN, Dec 2: District Police Ramban successfully organized a Volleyball Tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) to promote youth engagement in sports, strengthen community-police relations, and encourage a disciplined, drug-free lifestyle among the youth of the district. The league matches of the tournament were earlier conducted at the Sub-Divisional level across Ramban. The Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches were played yesterday at District Police Lines (DPL) Ramban, featuring eight qualified teams who displayed high levels of enthusiasm, skill, and sportsmanship. Today, the Final match was played at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Ramban, drawing an impressive audience of sports enthusiasts, locals, and students. The final event was graced by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ACR) Ramban as the Chief Guest, and the Principal, GHSS Ramban, as the Guest of Honour. The presence of SSP Ramban, Addl. SP Ramban, DySP Headquarters Ramban, officers of District Police Ramban, and officials from District Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) added to the significance of the occasion and ensured the smooth conduct of the event. After a series of thrilling matches, FB Sports Banihal and Team Sayam Ramban reached the finals. In a well-contested final match, team Sayam Club Ramban emerged as the champions of the tournament. Jaffer was adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament, earning appreciation for his outstanding performance throughout the competition. The SSP Ramban, while interacting with players, emphasized the importance of engaging youth in constructive activities and highlighted the role of sports in building discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle. District Police Ramban extended gratitude to all participating teams, sports officials, school authorities, and the local community for their active support and cooperation in making the event a grand success.
