Early Times Report DODA, Dec 2: In pursuance of the Supreme Court of India directions, a meeting on the management of stray dogs was convened today at DC Office Complex. The meeting was chaired by the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Harvinder Singh. The meeting deliberated on strengthening measures for stray dog management across the district, with emphasis on coordinated planning of the stakeholder departments and agencies. The deliberations included actionable strategies, inter-departmental cooperation and systematic execution of activities to resolve the problem of stray dogs in urban and rural areas. The DDC directed the officers and officials to prepare a list of educational institutions, crowded public places, dumping sites and other locations prone to dog menace and initiate awareness programmes to mobilize public cooperation. He further stressed the need for timely response, proper monitoring and proactive participation of all stakeholders to ensure public health and safety. The meeting was attended by the DFO Doda, ASP Doda, ACR Doda, ARTO, CMO Doda, ACP Doda, Principal GDC Doda, CAHO Doda, Executive Officers of Municipalities Doda, Thathri and Bhaderwah, DYSSO Doda and other concerned officers. |
