Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 2: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Jammu, convened an important meeting to fine-tune preparations for the grand observance of the 120th birth anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, scheduled to be held at the historic Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu on 5th of December, 2025.
Presided over by Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, the meeting drew enthusiastic participation from party functionaries. Senior leaders including Sheikh Bashir Ahmad Provincial Secretary Jammu and Babu Rampaul former minister and Central Zone President delivered key addresses, setting the tone for a commemorative event that aims to honour the legacy of a statesman who shaped the political and social landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. Members of the district committees, Blocks and Heads of Wings of Jammu and Samba were also present, reflecting the wide organisational involvement in the preparations.
The party resolved to hold the anniversary programme at 11:30 AM on 5th December, where leaders and workers will gather to offer floral tributes to Sheikh Abdullah, remembering him as a towering personality whose contributions continue to inspire generations. Special cultural and tribute segments are also expected to be part of the function, lending a solemn and reflective atmosphere to the occasion.
In his remarks, Gupta extended warm congratulations to the newly elected Rajya Sabha MPs on their impressive maiden speeches. He expressed optimism that the Government of India would honour its commitments and move earnestly towards the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir during the ongoing parliamentary session. He reiterated that the party remains steadfast in its struggle for the democratic and constitutional rights of the people.
Addressing the gathering, Gupta called upon workers to remain vigilant and united against what he described as the divisive and misleading propaganda of the BJP and its affiliates.
