Political issues set to dominate proceedings

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 3: As the Autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislature commenced in Srinagar on Saturday it witnessed an uproar indicating that everyone is ready to train the guns at each other. Uproar didn't last long and first day ended with the House passing obituary references.
Experts have been predicting that 8-day autumn session of the JK legislature would be stormy but all the experts seem to have missed an important point that the legislators have made it a habit to play to the galleries during the Assembly session and they rake up political issues only. "It's unfortunate that instead of raising people's issue legislators rake up the issues which have got nothing to with the people," said an analyst.
He said that gone are the days when legislators used to rake up the issues which used to touch the skin of a common man. "It's sad that legislators have no time for the issues concerning people or is it that they are unaware about the problems faced by the masses who have voted them to power," the analyst added.
A Jammu and Kashmir watcher said that legislators have started believing that legislature is the best place from where they can hog the headlines by raising hue and cry. The legislators need to bear in mind that huge expense is incurred to run the House and if nothing is achieved after spending so much of money it would prove that they are least bothered about the masses. "Legislators need to realize that they are the elected representatives of the people and they are in the August House due to people who have voted for them. They should not allow a handful of legislators who are desperate to be in the news to call the shots and take the entire
