Pakistan will change, India has to
Terrorism for annexing J&K
2/16/2018 10:58:08 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 16: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman claimed in Jammu that the terror attack on the Sunjuwan Army Camp was the brain-child of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad and Pakistan will have to pay price for what she called "Sunjuwan misadventure". She had also said that there was ample evidence available with security officers which would be enough to expose Pakistan. Of course, she didn't specify the timeframe for action against Pakistan.
As was expected, Pakistan has dismissed all the allegations about its involvement in the Sunjuwan terror attack and, on the contrary, told New Delhi that it missed opportunity after opportunity to harmonizing relations with it. It reiterated that Jammu & Kashmir was the major issue of conflict between the two nations and the possibility of peace returning to South Asia is too remote. In other words, Pakistan virtually told India to quit Jammu & Kashmir and hand it over to Pakistan so that the "unfinished agenda of partition is finished".
No government in India can afford to hand over Jammu & Kashmir to Pakistan.
The response from Pakistan clearly suggests that it would continue to use terror as a weapon against India to annex Jammu & Kashmir. In the mean time, the US intelligence chief has warned that "Pakistan-supported terrorist groups would continue to carry out attacks inside India and escalate tension between the two neighbours".
Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats' on February 13 reportedly told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence that "Pakistan will continue to threaten US interests by deploying new nuclear weapons capabilities, maintaining its ties to terrorists, restricting counter-terrorism cooperation, and drawing closer to China". "Relations between India and Pakistan are likely to remain tense, with continued violence on the Line of Control and the risk of escalation if there is another high-profile terrorist attack in India or an uptick in violence on the Line of Control," Coats was also quoted as saying.
Coats made these remarks two days after a group of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists attacked the Sunjuwan Military Camp in Jammu, killing seven people including six soldiers, and three terrorists.
It is absolutely clear: Pakistan will not change. India, which has been witnessing deadly low-cost proxy war since three decades now, has to change to rein in the aggressor Pakistan. There is no other option left now.
