| LPG distributor booked for unfair trade practices | | | Early Times Report
udhampur, June 14: A team of officers of Legal Metrology headed by Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Department Jaideep Singh Sambyal conducted a raid on unauthorised sale point of LPG distributor M/S Shubam Gas Agency at Adarsh Colony, here today.
The inspection was conducted to ascertain the genuineness of several complaints of overcharging and other violation of package commodity rule 2011 as well as market discipline guidelines of oil marketing companies and LPG control order 2000 of central Government enforced by J&K Government vide SRO No- 5-10-2005.
The team conducted surprise raid on the specific place where two trucks of M/S Shubam Gas Agency were found and the distributor was conducting sale of domestic LPG Cylinders to people.
The people complained that the distributor was not handling booking on telephone where as per rules it is mandatory for the distributors to ensure 100% home delievery. The people also complained about non- refund of Rs19 on account of non home delivery and non receipt of computerized cash memo by the consumers.
The team seized records of the said distributor for further action .
Assistant Controller directed all the LPG distributors of the district to ensure home delivery within 48 hours of office booking besides ensuring proper weighing of delivery and in case home delivery cannot be done to a particular consumer then the refund of Rs 19 be made to the consumer. |
