6/14/2018 11:38:52 PM
Early Times Report
rajouri, June 14: To express their resentment against step motherly treatment with the people of Qila Darhal tehsil in Nowshera sub division by the local Legislatures, the inhabitants of the area today blocked Nowshera road for about three hours and raised slogans against the Legislatures and state government.
Protesters lead by ex-serpanch Paramjit Singh, Captain (retd) Ravinder Singh, Moulvi Khalak & others alleged the local MLA, Ravinder Raina , who is also State BJP president, and MLC Surinder Choudhry (PDP) have fully neglected them as the majority of people in Qila Darhal belong to Sikh & Muslim community.
On June 11 large number of members from Sikh and Muslim communities including women came on the roads against Ch Zulfikar Ali, Education Minister and both the Legislatures for neglecting their area.
They also burnt the effigy of Ravinder Raina alleging he deliberately didn't take initiative for the up-gradation of our high school.
Capt Rvinder Singh and Mohd Hassan alleged that with 90% population of Hindu community, the MLA and MLC has played major role in the up-gradation of high school at Laroka which was inaugurated today by Ravinder Raina, MLA.
"Why our area was neglected? In 1952 primary school was established at Qila which was up-graded to high school in 1979 and since then (for about 39 years) our children covering 22 kilometres daily to study in higher secondary school at Nowshera" said Molvi Khalak.
Protesters have condemned the role of both the Legislatures for not providing any type of relief to the people of Qila Darhal tehsil and warned large scale protest after 10 days if the high school at Qila Darhal was not up-graded to HSS.
Protesters have warned a protest before the office of Deputy Commissioner and also said they will approach the Court against both the Legislatures for neglecting the people of Qila Darhal tehsil.
Suresh Kumar Choudhry, Tehsildar, Suresh Kumar who reached the spot has assured the protesters to take up their demand with higher authorities.
