Bukhari, Hussain left, who is next?
12/18/2018 10:46:07 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 18: As three PDP leaders, Basharat Bukhari, Peer Hussain and Mehboob Iqbal are finally out of the party, the Early Times stands vindicated yet again. The newspaper had published the report on December 15 and December 18.
As the PDP claims to have expelled the troika over the anti-party activities, the party has failed to explain what activities they were involved in.
The reality is that both the leaders had left the party a week ago and were waiting to make the final announcement in this regard.
On Tuesday, PDP vice president, Abdul Rehman Veeri said, "The party has expelled Peer Muhammad Hussain and Syed Basahrat Bukhari from the basic membership of the party on charges of anti-party activities. The party has also removed Mehboob Iqbal, the party General Secretary from the position he was holding.
Contesting the party claim, Peer Hussain has stated that he had himself left the party a long time ago and was waiting to make a formal announcement in this regard.
On the other hand, Basharat Bukhari continues to remain tightlipped over his expulsion from the party. As per reports, he is all set to spill beans over the differences he had with the party leadership and where did the party went wrong and how. It is most likely that when Bukhari would make the formal joining in national conference, he is planning to address a press conference in which he will reveal the inner most secrets that compelled him to bid adieu to the party in which he spent over a decade.
Bukhari a radio announcer in Radio Kashmir Srinagar left his job soon after the PDP formed the coalition government with the Congress after the 2002 polls.
Elected as MLC from the party, Bukhari contested 2014 polls and won from Sangrama constituency of north Kashmir.
He was inducted into the cabinet by Mufti Mohd Sayeed after the PDP stitched alliance with the BJP. Wedge between him and the PDP developed in February 2017 when during a cabinet revamp, he was accorded with a low profile portfolio. Bukhari while protesting the decision taken by then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti refused to join his new office. For almost a month, the department remained without a minister. It was later after much confabulations that Bukhari agreed to assume charge of the new ministry. However, as per the insiders, relation between him and the part continued to remained under the cloud.
As per the sources, Bukhari was waiting in wings to leave the party for ever but was waiting for the governor to issue formal orders for dissolution of the assembly.
Peer Hussain is the founder PDP member and once considered as close confidante of former Chief Minister late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. He was appointed vice chairman of the Waqf Board in 2015. Last year, however, he was forced to resign without any reason. As his son was sacked from his post, he issued a public statement and ridiculed the party.
