If Mehbooba can apologize for 'toffee, milk' remark, she should say sorry to us for curtailing advertisements
Early Times suffered Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 crore loss in PDP-BJP tenure

Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 15: President of the Peoples Democratic Party and the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has been apologizing for the mistakes which she committed when she ruled the state.
Mehbooba on the occasion of third death anniversary of her late father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed apologized for her "toffee and milk" remark hoping that it would swing the pendulum in her favour but many people were not impressed by her apology.
When Mehbooba Mufri was the Chief Minister she directed the Information department to curtail government advertisements to Early Times as your newspaper refused to act as the mouthpiece of her government. She needs to tender an "unconditional apology" to Early Times for curtailing the government advertisements to us and subjecting us to harassment. Early Times approximately suffered a loss of anything between Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3 crore during Mehbooba's tenure and she needs to say sorry for launching a direct attack on our livelihood and source of income.
When Mehbooba was in power she on many occasions got it conveyed to the Early Times that newspaper should stop highlighting the discrimination being faced by the Jammu region and if we don't fall in the line we would have to face the music, which we eventually faced for defying her diktat.
We were told on many occasions to remain soft and not to highlight the corrupt practices and the mismanagement in various boards, corporations and even within the government departments. We were told many things verbally but we remained steadfast on our resolve and highlighted the corrupt practices which were eating up the system. We refused to follow Mehbooba's diktat to project only "goody, goody things" about the government.
Our news reports about separatists spreading their tentacles and section among the PDP leaders supporting them were vindicated along with the passage of time. The alarms which we raised from time to time during Mehbooba's tenure came true.
We remained firm on our stand that Jammu cannot be ignored and ensured that scams and other issues are not brushed under the carpet. Early Times siding with the truth annoyed the then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. She issued verbal directions to hit us below the belt by choking the revenue. Every attempt was made by the PDP-BJP government led by Mehbooba to cripple us financially. During her tenure we reminded her on many occasions that power won't last forever but she did not pay any heed and continued to dictate terms. Ones who followed her dictations remained in her good books. But the ones who brought the real face of her government to fore were punished and taken to task for mustering courage to write against the "queen."
