| Governor Malik wake up, don't feel pain of militants; wipe them out | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 14: Terrorists targeting a bus carrying jawans of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Lethpora (Awantipora) in Pulwama district and 44 personnel attaining martyrdom should serve as an eye opener for the Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik, who has been saying that killing militants "pains" him.
"Every single killing in Kashmir even that of militants pains me," Governor Malik had said in Jammu last month. He had said that killing militants is no solution and wouldn't end the "real problem". "I think militancy is not in guns but in brains. We're trying to remove the militancy that is hitting the brains," he had said.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said that "The terror attack at Lethpora which left more than 44 CRPF jawans dead is the handiwork of the terrorists, whose pain Governor Malik has been feeling since the day he took over the reins of the state."
He said that "The terror attack on the CRPF convoy has vindicated the nationalist people who have been demanding that terrorists and the stone pelters should be dealt with an iron fist. It's the stone pelters, who become terrorists and then bleed the security forces."
It's in place to mention here that since the day Governor Malik has taken over the reins of the state the government has constituted 'district level task forces' for engagement of youth in sports to stop them from diverting towards other activities. An official document of divisional commissioner Kashmir office reveals that task forces would identify the gaps with regard to sports, cultural, and infrastructure.
They have to "prepare calendar of the activities for purpose of youth engagement/sports that could bring out a change on the ground to make them useful instruments of change and also to ensure furtherance of sports/cultural activities".
The documents say that district development commissioner Srinagar has recommended that "special focus needs to be placed on the down town where majority of the population lives, which has been adversely affected in the present turmoil".
"Special allocation of funds be made for development of different facilities like gymnasiums, entertainment halls, career counseling centres to have a salutary effect on the downtown youth," the DC Srinagar as per documents has recommended.
Other similar schemes have been started for the stone pelters in different districts of the Valley. "The Governor's administration is going soft against anti-nationals and stone pelters by preferring them over nationalistic forces. There are reports that in these schemes the preference has been given to habitual stone-pelters and anti-nationals while others have been left out," said an observer.
He said that martyrdom of more than 44 CRPF jawans in the car bomb blast has proved it beyond doubt that pain of stone-pelters should not be felt and the Governor should focus on ensuring that militants are killed to make Kashmir terror free. "If he just keeps on issuing political statements and being soft towards the anti-national elements it can lead to a catastrophe. Governor Malik should wake up before it's too late," the observer said. |
