Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 24: Although sitting Lok Sabha member and BJP’s poster boy Jamyang Tsering Namgyal has opposed the decision of the party to drop him, he is unlikely to join the electoral battle as a rebel candidate.
Highly placed sources said that Namgyal and his supporters have expressed their anger only to show their strength to the leadership.
“Some central leaders are still in touch with Namgyal and he will be placated soon”, sources said and added that the party will be suitably accommodated after the Lok Sabha elections.
After yesterday’s social media post, Namgyal has now maintained a guarded silence and it is believed that some central leaders have approached him and asked him to support Tashi Galyson.
Moments after being dropped from the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat by the party high command, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, the incumbent Member of Parliament and a prominent figure within the BJP, swiftly voiced his dissent.
“Today, the BJP announced a new candidate for the Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency, replacing the sitting MP without providing transparent

nd compelling justification. I have communicated my disagreement to the party leadership through proper channels regarding this injustice to a dedicated Karyakarta. Hundreds of BJP activists and my supporters from across Ladakh have also voicing their disapproval with this decision. We will carefully evaluate the situation and determine our next course of action, keeping the well-being of the people of Ladakh at the forefront.
“I extend heartfelt gratitude to all supporters for their steadfast backing”, Namgyal posted on his Facebook page.
The BJP’s decision saw Tashi Gyalson, Chief Executive Councilor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh, nominated as the new candidate for the Ladakh seat, replacing Namgyal.
Tension had been brewing for the past month over the BJP candidate selection for the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat, fueled by dissatisfaction with Namgyal’s leadership style among Ladakh residents. Reports indicated a lack of contentment within the party’s central leadership with Namgyal’s focus on national publicity rather than addressing local issues.
