to haunt her to this day.
Following the tragic incident, the administration offered assurances of support, promising Banu Begum a plot of land measuring 5 marlas where she could rebuild her life. However, despite these promises, neither the Sarpanch nor any government officials have visited her to offer assistance or provide updates on the pledged compensation.
With the rainy season looming on the horizon once again, Banu Begum finds herself living in constant fear. Perched atop a hillock in her makeshift shelter, she worries that history may repeat itself, and her humble abode may be washed away by the torrential rains. “I hope the administration shifts us to a safer place and provides us with the promised compensation and 5 marlas land,” she expresses, her plea echoing the sentiments of countless others who find themselves in similar circumstances.
