Togadia unlikely to be allowed to enter Jammu, may be sent back from airport | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 20: Activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and its allied organisations have already given final touch to the visit of firebrand Hindu leader Dr Parveen Togadia, authorities on the other hand were thinking not to allow VHP leader to enter Jammu. As per the programmes finalized by the VHP, Praveen Togadia would reach Jammu on Thursday morning ie on February 21 and would address public meetings at Akhnoor, RS Pura, Gandhi Nagar and Mahajan Sabha. Togadia is scheduled to address meeting of Sarpanches and Panches of Raipur Domana also. Sources said that keeping in view the prevailing tense situation in the State particularly in Kashmir valley in wake of the execution of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, authorities do not want to take any risk so it has almost been decided that Togadia would not be allowed to address public meetings as per the schedule. There is feeling among a section of the authorities that Togadia visit would create another tension as he is known for delivering highly provocative speeches. Furthermore, authorities have somehow brought back normalcy in Kashmir and speeches of such leaders would further provide opportunity to the radical groups to exploit the situation. Sources said that one section of the administration was thinking that Togadia should be allowed to enter Jammu but he should be later debarred from addressing public meetings. Another section has suggested that Togadia should be sent back from Jammu Airport as a precautionary measure. Sources disclosed that final decision in this regard would be taken after discussing all pros and corns. During his visit last year in the month of March, Togadia alleged objectionable speech had communal tension in border town of Rajouri. After the visit of Togadia, border town of Rajouri remained in tension for more than one week. Parveen Togadia, Acting President VHP had visited Rajouri on March 4, 2012 for fund collection (Dharam Raksha Nidhi) and had addressed people at Shakha Ground Rajouri. During his speech, he made some "provocative and inflammatory comments" for which case FIR No. 984012 U/S 153-A RPC was registered against him at Police Station Rajouri. Recently the Maharashtra police had booked Togadia for his alleged 'hate speech' in Nanded recently.
