Early Times Report

Jammu, May 9: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Peoples’ Conference chief Sajad Gani Lone indulged in exchanging barbs after Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sopore Divya D asked political parties to reschedule their activities due to some “authentic inputs”.
Omar Abdullah, who is contesting the election against Sajad Lone on the Baramulla Lok Sabha seat alleged that it was all due to pressure from the Peoples’ Conference chief that authorities have been “sabotaging” NC’s poll campaign. Reacting to Omar Abdullah’s allegations Sajad Lone asked the former chief minister to “stop being a crybaby”.
“Can we stop this TARBAAZI. We have now stooped to TARBAAZ- Pro. And seems we will need to create a special section to counter lies manufactured by you on an hourly basis.
We have also been instructed to reschedule our programmes.
In fact, both PC and NC have been intimated in the same order, which I have attached for your reference. In wonderment why you couldn’t read the whole order”, Sajad posted on his social media account.
“Stop be

ng a crybaby. And tell your cronies to come up with lies that have a longer shelf life. I was accosted out of a village just two hours back. Ohh God this entitlement of yours is sickening. A humble advice. For your opponents to get unnerved you have to have crowds. Don’t expect us to get unnerved with nonexistent crowds.
Introspect on nonexistent crowds. And youngsters chasing you away”, he chided Omar Abdullah.
In a letter written to the Election Commission of India, Omar Abdullah termed the decision a biased and egregious attempt to surreptitiously disadvantage the National Conference.
“The NC had requested for permission to conduct various political rallies, meetings, and use of flags on vehicles throughout various locations in Baramulla which were duly approved. These were however rejected by S.P Sopore demanding the party reschedule the same to other dates.”, the letter reads.
“This denial of permissions is aimed at derailing the political campaign of the party and preventing the party from effectively carrying out its campaign”, the letter further reads.
