Early Times Report LUCKNOW, July 18: In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's sustained efforts toward water conservation are paying off, with the state emerging as a national leader in the mission to conserve every drop of rainwater. The Yogi government, driven by the CM's personal commitment to the cause, is observing Groundwater Week from July 16 to 22 to promote awareness and maximize rainwater recharge during the monsoon. Water conservation has been a matter of personal priority for CM Yogi since taking office in 2017. The results speak for themselves-under the Mission Amrit Sarovar, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022, Uttar Pradesh has outperformed every other state in the country. Against the target of constructing or rejuvenating 5,550 ponds (based on 75 ponds per district for 74 districts), UP has completed a staggering 16,630 ponds-over three times the target.
