15 day certificate course on INM underway at KVK Reasi

Reasi, Oct 30: In continuation of 15 days certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised training programme on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) here today at KVK Reasi campus for Krishi Udhaymis of KKGs and input dealers of both Reasi and Udhampur districts. KVK Reasi is working under the dynamic stewardship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.N.Tripathi and able guidance of Director Extension, Prof.Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J. Various technical sessions were organised during the programme. Dr.Banarsi Lal, Chief Scientist & Head, KVK Reasi spoke on the significance of organic farming and urged participants to adopt organic practices so that soil fertility can be increased and quality food can be produced.
He highlighted the vermicomposting technology and elaborated the benefits of organic farming. He also spoke on the timing and dose of various nutrients required for agricultural crops. Sh.Sunil Kumar, AEO, Department of Agriculture, Reasi spoke in detail on the soil fertility management by the Integrated Nutrient Management. He highlighted the role on nutrients on the growth and development of various crops. Dr.Vijay Attri, Marketing Officer, Department of Horticulture, Planning and Marketing, Reasi spoke in detail on Rural Business and Services Hub (RBSH) scheme and various other schemes for the farmers. He also spoke in detail on marketing practices and value addition of various crops. Sh. Bharat Bhushan, JAEO, Department of Agriculture, Reasi spoke on the management of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) and elaborated the significance of nutrients in various crops. He also elaborated the toxicity of essential plants nutrients and suggested the remedial measures of toxicity. He narrated that through eco-friendly technologies both environment and human beings are benefitted. He also spoke on various macro and micro- nutrients and guided participants to start entrepreneurship development in vermicomposting. A special session on farmer-scientists interaction was also organised during which the various quarries were raised by the farmers which were answered satisfactorily by the experts. The programme was assisted by Sh. Manohar Lal, Sh. Summer Qureshi and concluded by Sh.Sunil Kumar with the formal vote of thanks.
