Chandigarh, Dec 15: Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an educational and cultural trip for its teaching faculty to Anandpur Sahib, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
The reflective spiritual journey was undertaken as part of the ongoing commemoration of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, whose supreme sacrifice stands as an enduring symbol of courage, conscience and the protection of human rights.
During the visit, the faculty members paid obeisance at Gurudwara Sri Keshgarh Sahib, one of the five Takhts of Sikhism, and engaged in contemplation on the life, teachings and lasting legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
The itinerary also included a visit to Virasat-e-Khalsa, the iconic museum that vividly presents the history, philosophy and cultural heritage of Sikhism through immersive and thoughtfully curated exhibits. The experience offered the participants deeper insights into the spiritual and historical ethos of the Sikh tradition. The visit proved to be a deeply enriching experience, reinforcing cultural awareness, shared reflection and collective thoughtfulness among the faculty members.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma commended the initiative and observed that such visits significantly enhance educators’ historical understanding and moral sensitivity.
She emphasised that meaningful engagement with sites of profound spiritual and historical importance fosters reflection, empathy and a renewed commitment to the values of tolerance, courage and ethical responsibility exemplified by Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. She further affirmed that the institution remains dedicated to promoting experiential learning that enriches academic perspectives while nurturing value-driven educators. |
