| Police arrest 2 main accused within hours | | Sub-Inspector Attack Case | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 15: Jammu Police on Monday arrested two main accused involved in attacking a serving police officer in Bakshi Nagar area yesterday. A police official said that on the evening of December 14 (Sunday) Sub-Inspector Nitin Khajuria, Investigating Officer of Police Station Bakshi Nagar, was intercepted and attacked by a group of assailants identified as Rishab, Munna D, and two unidentified individuals near Gurrah Morh. The attackers assaulted the officer with a tokka (sharp-edged weapon) and also brandished a pistol, creating panic in the area. SI Nitin Khajuria sustained injuries in the attack and was immediately rushed to Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, where he is undergoing treatment. Taking prompt cognisance of the incident, Jammu Police registered FIR No. 158/2025 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Bakshi Nagar. Senior officers constituted special teams to trace and apprehend the culprits. Using a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence, police teams tracked the movement of the accused and traced them to the Nikki Tawi area. While attempting to flee under the cover of darkness, the two main accused—Rishab and Munna D—fell down and sustained injuries. Both were immediately apprehended and shifted to GMC Jammu for medical treatment under police custody. Police officials said that further investigation in the case is underway. Efforts are being intensified to identify and arrest the two remaining unidentified suspects involved in the attack. |
