Katra, Apr 24: In a major step towards strengthening public safety and law enforcement, the Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the security and crime situation in Katra Town and Bhawan area. The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu Sh Bhim Sen Tuti, DIG UR Range Sh Shiv Kumar Sharma, and SSP Reasi Sh Mukund Tibrewal, along with Addl SP Katra , Sh Kameshwar Puri ,the SDPO Katra, and the SHO Katra. During the meeting, the DGP outlined a comprehensive roadmap for the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan launched under the directions of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of J&K. The DGP also emphasized the need for expeditious investigation and disposal of cases in accordance with the provisions of the New Criminal Laws (NCL). He instructed officers to ensure strict adherence to timelines and improve the overall efficiency of investigations. Further, the DGP issued specific directions to strengthen the security grid in Katra Town and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine area, with special focus on ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims visiting the holy shrine. |
