9/11/2026 10:04:45 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 11: In line with Indian Railways' commitment to continuously improve passenger amenities and make the travel experience more pleasant, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has taken yet another innovative initiative.
After the formation of Jammu Division, several unique initiatives have been taken regarding passenger amenities under the leadership and guidance of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Shri Uchit Singhal. In continuation of expanding these facilities, a new catering concept "Shake & Soup Parlour" will soon be started for the convenience of passengers at Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
Two state-of-the-art 'Shake & Soup Parlours' will be set up at Platform No. 4/5 and Platform No. 6/7 of Jammu Tawi Railway Station, the operation of which will commence from 25th October 2026._ The main objective of these stalls is to provide passengers with healthy, hygienic and fresh beverages right at the platform.
These catering units have been allotted through a transparent e-auction process. Under this successful auction, these units have been allotted for a period of two years.
On this occasion, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Shri Uchit Singhal said, "Our constant endeavour is to provide the best possible facilities to the passengers travelling from Jammu Tawi station. A new concept like 'Shake & Soup Parlour' is a step in this direction, the operation of which will start from 25th October 2026. The earlier introduction of the Ice Cream Parlour was also part of this series. This initiative will not only enhance passenger satisfaction but will also increase the non-fare revenue of the Railways."
This initiative will not only increase passenger satisfaction but will also make the station more modern and passenger-friendly.
