JAMMU, Sept 12: MLA Bahu, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today inaugurated and commenced important lane and drain development works in Gandhinagar and Nanak Nagar, addressing long-pending demands of local residents and reaffirming his commitment to strengthening basic civic infrastructure across the constituency.
The MLA inaugurated the lane and drain work near the residence of Dr. Sunita Puri in the Greenbelt area of Gandhinagar, Ward No. 20, amounting to Rs 24 lakh. He also kick-started lane and drain work near the residence of P.N. Bali, near Shivaji Chowk, Nanak Nagar, amounting to Rs 35 lakh. Together, the works represent a significant investment of Rs 59 lakh towards improving local infrastructure.
The works were carried out in the presence of the Mandal President, Gandhinagar, former Corporator Rahul Kumar, and his team, including Bharat Bhushan, Dr. Sunita Puri, Daljeet Singh, Satvir Singh, Utkarsh, Sunil Jain, Vijay Choudhary and Dr. Satish Puri, along with local residents, JMC officials and the concerned contractors.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch. Vikram Randhawa said that the development of lanes and drainage infrastructure remains a priority, as these facilities directly impact the daily lives of residents. He stated that long-pending public demands are being taken up systematically, ensuring that neglected civic issues receive due attention and that development reaches every locality without discrimination.
The MLA further emphasized that effective coordination with the Jammu Municipal Corporation and continuous monitoring of ongoing works are essential for ensuring quality execution and timely completion.
Local residents warmly expressed their gratitude to Ch. Vikram Randhawa for addressing their long-standing demands and bringing much-needed development to their areas. They said that the commencement of these works has raised confidence among residents that their genuine civic concerns are being heard and resolved. |
