Raveeka Mishra, a resident of Basohli who is pursuing law studies, said the AI-based 80s photo trend is attracting considerable attention. She noted that people are using AI to bring the memories and nostalgia of the bygone era back to life through photographs.
Users are creating these retro-style images by giving different prompts to AI tools. However, uploading personal photographs to AI platforms also raises concerns over privacy and data security.
Such images can potentially affect a person's personal life if they are misused, altered or shared without consent. In the wrong hands, personal photographs could be used to create misleading content, cause embarrassment, affect a person's reputation or create problems in family, social and professional relationships. There is also a risk that photographs may remain stored on digital platforms or be used in ways users may not fully understand.
