'RailOne' App Becoming Popular Among Rail Passengers, Increase in Unreserved Ticket Booking - Jammu Division
9/15/2026 11:04:38 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 15: Jammu Division is continuously striving to realize the digital initiatives of Indian Railways on the ground and to provide modern, easy and prompt services to the passengers. In this series, the all-in-one super app 'RailOne' developed by Indian Railways is getting an unprecedented response from passengers. This app is rapidly becoming popular among the passengers of Jammu Division, as a result of which a major change is being seen in the unreserved ticket booking system. Now a large number of passengers are finding it more convenient and a preferred option to book unreserved tickets on the 'RailOne' app through their mobile phones instead of standing in long queues at ticket counters at the station.
Encouraging results of this digital transformation have come to light in Jammu Division. If the data received as on 14 September 2026 is analyzed, the inclination of passengers towards digital ticketing is continuously increasing. At major stations of NSG-1 to 3 category, about 17 percent of passengers have booked their unreserved tickets through the 'RailOne' app instead of the ticket counter. Similarly, this figure is even more impressive at stations of NSG-4 to 6 category, where about 28 percent of passengers have adopted this app. This continuously increasing percentage is proof that the passenger community is not only accepting this new technology, but is also making it a part of their daily travel experience in a better way.
To make the 'RailOne' app more beneficial for passengers, the Railways has also started a special incentive scheme. Under this scheme, if passengers recharge their wallet through R-Wallet and book tickets, they are being given an additional bonus of 3 percent on the recharge amount.
'RailOne' app is called the super app of Indian Railways because it fulfills almost all the needs of the passengers on a single platform. Through this single app, passengers can book unreserved tickets and platform tickets sitting at home. Apart from this, many facilities are available like booking of reserved tickets, checking PNR status, live status and tracking of trains, coach position, train arrival-departure schedule, grievance redressal and suggestions through Rail Madad, and ordering favourite food in the train itself through e-catering facility. This app saves passengers' time, reduces crowding at stations and makes the journey completely digital and paperless.
