Startup Idea Challenge 2.0 - Boot Camp held at PSPS GCW, Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Sept 15: PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), organised the Startup Idea Challenge 2.0 - Boot Camp today in the College Auditorium. The programme was aimed at nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship and problem-solving abilities among young students and providing them with a platform to transform innovative ideas into potential start-ups.
The event was organised under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Kulvinder Kour, Principal, PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, with the collaborative efforts of the Career Counselling Cell, Institutional Innovation Committee (IIC), Department of Commerce and Yuva Mission Committee, in association with JKEDI. The programme was coordinated by Prof. Rashi Gupta, Convenor, Career Counselling Cell; Prof. Arjun Kotwal, Convenor, Institutional Innovation Committee; and Dr. Asha Devi, Nodal Officer, JKEDI.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the presentation of saplings to the Chief Guest and distinguished guests. Rajesh Kotwal, DNO, JKEDI Jammu, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset among the youth and encouraging students to identify challenges around them and develop innovative solutions.
In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Kulvinder Kour, Principal of the College, encouraged the participants to think creatively, identify real-world problems and convert their ideas into sustainable and impactful ventures. She emphasized that innovation, confidence, perseverance and the willingness to learn from failure are essential qualities for successful entrepreneurship.
A special motivational talk was delivered by Sh. Anubhav Kohli, Founder, Lawgger Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Sharing experiences from his entrepreneurial journey, he motivated the students to embrace challenges, remain persistent and develop a solution-oriented approach while pursuing their entrepreneurial aspirations.
The participants were also sensitised about the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27 and apprised of the opportunities available within the emerging start-up ecosystem of Jammu & Kashmir. Guidance was also provided on developing, structuring and effectively pitching innovative business ideas.
