Jammu, Oct 9: In view of anticipated road traffic jam around New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations on 10th October 2026, the railway administration has decided to cancel some trains. Under this, 4 important trains departing from Jammu Division on 09th October 2026 - Train No. 12446, 04082, 22462 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - New Delhi) and 12426 Rajdhani Express (Jammu Tawi - New Delhi) will remain cancelled.
Despite the short-notice cancellation of trains, Jammu Division has made prompt and effective arrangements to ensure that passengers do not face inconvenience. Staff of all departments have been deployed at all important railway stations including Jammu Tawi, and continuous monitoring is being done by senior officers through the War Room and necessary instructions are being given to the staff from time to time. In this sequence, Commercial Inspectors have been deployed at all important stations including Jammu Tawi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Kathua and Pathankot Cantt. To guide the passengers, the enquiry system has been strengthened and special Help Desks have been set up, and all passengers are being continuously informed by sending bulk SMS through the control.
For quick dissemination of information, extensive use of media, social media, public announcement system and display boards is being made. For crowd management at stations, Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police have been deployed, while additional staff has been called to operate special refund counters and a dedicated helpline number of Jammu has also been activated.
