Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 18: Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered a case against the wife of an Army officer on charges of collecting sensitive information and sharing it with foreign intelligence agents. Some of these agents are said to be linked to China.
The case was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station under the relevant sections of the Official Secrets Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The woman, who is from Telangana, currently lives in Jammu with her husband.
Sources said she was involved in some research-related activities, which police are now examining. Investigators are also trying to understand the nature of these activities and whether any information or material was handed over to foreign intelligence operatives. The allegations point to a serious matter of national security.
After the FIR was filed, an officer of Deputy Superintendent of Police rank questioned the woman as part of the probe. Sources said she has not been arrested so far.
The early inquiry has not established that she shared any sensitive information. Police are also looking into the circumstances that led to the FIR being registered.
Officials are also checking the claims of possible links with foreign entities, including whether the woman was actually in contact with foreign intelligence agents. A detailed investigation is needed to establish whether the allegations are true, and the probe is still on. Further details are awaited.
