Army reaffirms decisive stand against terror ahead of Pahalgam carnage anniversary
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 21: On the eve of the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army has reiterated its unwavering resolve to confront terrorism, declaring that “when boundaries of humanity are crossed, the response is decisive.”
The carnage on April 22 last year claimed 26 lives, most of them tourists, in south Kashmir’s Pahalgam. India responded with a swift military operation on May 7, dismantling terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan‑occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Marking the solemn anniversary, the Army released a symbolic post on X featuring the message: “Justice is Served. India Stands United. #SindoorAnniversary #JusticeEndures #NationFirst.” The digital poster carried a silhouetted map of India with the stark caption, “Some Boundaries Should Never Be Crossed.” The word “CROSSED” was stylized with the letter “O” depicted as a bowl of sindoor (vermilion), underscoring the theme of remembrance and sacrifice. A crimson tagline at the bottom read: “India Does Not Forget.”
The Army’s decisive response last year was branded Operation Sindoor. In its first announcement at 1:51 a.m. on May 7, the Army declared, “#PahalgamTerrorAttack Justice is Served. Jai Hind!” accompanied by a poster bearing the operation’s name. Subsequent counter‑offensives against Pakistan were also carried out under the same banner, with the conflict lasting nearly 88 hours before both sides reached an understanding on May 10.
Over the past year, senior military leaders have repeatedly emphasized that Operation Sindoor remains ongoing, stressing the need for India’s defense preparedness to stay at the highest level, round‑the‑clock and year‑round.
