High Court constitutes committee for live streaming of proceedings

JAMMU, May 21: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has constituted a high-level committee for operationalization and implementation of the Live Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings Rules, 2023.
According to an official order issued by the Office of the Registrar General at Srinagar, Hon’ble the Chief Justice has approved the formation of the committee to determine the nature and categories of cases where live streaming of court proceedings can initially be introduced.
The committee comprises the following Hon’ble Judges: Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Sindhu Sharma,Justice Rajnesh Oswal,Justice Sanjay Dhar Justice Rahul Bharti.
The order further states that Shri Faizan I Nazar, Central Project Coordinator of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, has been nominated as the Presenting Officer of the committee.
The committee has been tasked with framing the roadmap for effective implementation of live streaming and recording mechanisms in court proceedings in line with the 2023 Rules.
The move is being seen as a major step towards enhancing judicial transparency, accessibility, and use of technology in the justice delivery system across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
