Rajouri/Poonch, July 19: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the situation following the incessant rainfall and flash floods in Rajouri and Poonch and directed officials to ensure immediate assistance to affected families.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said he had reviewed the situation with senior officials and noted that teams from the civil administration, police, Army, SDRF, and local volunteers were actively engaged in rescue operations. He said affected families had been shifted to safer locations and that all departments had been placed on high alert to prioritise relief and restoration work.
Expressing grief over the loss of lives in Surankote and Haveli areas, Sinha directed officials to provide immediate relief and ensure emergency teams remained fully prepared to respond to any further contingency. |
