In another development, an independent MLA from Surankote, Choudhary Mohammed Akram, has reaffirmed his support for the Omar Abdullah-led government, dismissing reports suggesting differences with the ruling dispensation or any possibility of distancing himself from it.
Reacting to reports linking his name with alleged political disagreements within the government, Akram said he had no connection with the developments being reported and expressed displeasure over what he described as unnecessary attempts by certain media organisations to drag his name into unrelated matters.
“I stand with the government, and it is very unfortunate that some media houses are unnecessarily dragging my name into unrelated matters,” Akram said.
He categorically ruled out any disagreement or disassociation with the Omar Abdullah-led government, asserting that there was no question of going back on his commitments.
Akram’s clarification comes amid reports of alleged differences within the ruling dispensation, with the legislator seeking to put speculation about his political position to rest.
