Jammu, Oct 5: Even as the government of Jammu and Kashmir flaunts of promoting cultural activities across the union territory, the Kala Kendra in Jammu, which is the hub of such activities in the winter capital is set to lose space.
Even though the Jammu city has huge chunk of open government land, the administration has decided to take away four kanals of prized land from the Kala Kendra for construction of official building of another department.
Sources said the decision in this regard was taken at a high level meeting wherein it was decided that four kanals of prized land in the backyard of the Kala Kendra would be used for the construction of the office of the Archives department.
