TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Defeat of Sham, Shakti: Warning signals for BJP’s ex-ministers
12/23/2020 11:40:24 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 23: Despite strong wave in favour of the party in Jammu province, defeat of two former ministers of BJP is a warning signal for those party leaders who enjoyed the PDP by bartering wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu region. Two former ministers of BJP, Sham Lal Choudhary and Shakti Raj Parihar had contested District Development Councils (DDCs) elections but both of them lost. Parihar had contested on two seats but failed to emerge victorious on any of the two. Although BJP’s stalwart Sham Lal Choudhary lost election by a narrow margin of only 11 votes, his defeat is an indication of people’s anger against former ministers who had failed to assert when Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti were chief ministers of J&K. Two times Legislator and a former minister Sham Lal Choudhary has lost his bastion with a margin of mere 11 votes to an independent candidate Taranjit Singh Tony. Almost all former BJP ministers in the BJP-PDP coalition regime have lost credibility due to their actions and their alleged involvement in the corrupt pr...

12/23/2020 11:39:55 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 23: Untimely demise of Congress stalwart and two-time Lok Sabha member Madan Lal Sharma is condoled by all sections of the society. Although the Pradesh Congress Committee has deeply condoled the sad demise of Madan Lal Sharma, a coterie within the party has shamelessly hatched a conspiracy to demoralize the ailing leader who served the party with dedication and commitment. Despite serving the party for years together, Congress leadership denied mandate of Madan Lal Sharma’s son Satish Sharma who is also senior Youth Congress leader in the party. Reliable sources in the Congress said that party leadership was very much aware that Satish Sharma had po...

Was father-son duo playing ball with Mehbooba?
12/23/2020 11:39:40 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 23: A day after the results of the recently held DDC polls were announced, subtle cracks within the Gupkar alliance became visible with the conglomerate leaders preferring to hold separate press conferences- eulogising self, more than the joint alliance. The National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah dropped enough hints at a party function in Srinagar that the triumph that they registered during the polls was for the party and not for the alliance. The speeches of the father- son duo were clearly indicative of the fact that the National Conference believes it was the party’s victory more than that of the alliance. “These ...

The people of these twin districts have outrightly rejected the BJP's agenda of development. They alleged that the BJP has ignored the development aspect in these districts.
