Abodh Sharma Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 5: Governor's direction to the GAD to ensure compliance of SRO 164 is likely to drop a bombshell on many a government officers who have been occupying key honorary positions in several sports associations for years without seeking mandatory permission from the Government. Taking cognizance of media reports that indicated at the blatant violation of SRO 164 which makes it mandatory for government officers/officials to seek permission from Government before accepting positions in sports associations, Governor on Thursday directed the General Administration Department to ensure strict compliance of the SRO. Sources disclose that many Senior Police and Civil officers of the state administration have been occupying top positions in sports associations of the state while they have violated SRO 164, they have also been violating guidelines of the State Sports Council by holding on to these positions for multiple terms.
