Early Times Report Jammu, June 4: Even after the omission of six months diploma in Computer Application as an eligibility for the posts of junior assistant and junior stenographer by the General Administration Department (GAD), the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) is still in slumber as the Board has fixed holding a diploma as one of the eligibility criteria in the latest job notification. In the job notification issued by JKSSB on June 4, 2021 vide advertisement number 3 of 2021, a total of 503 posts of different cadre have been advertised in various departments, which includes 280 in Forest, Ecology and Environment, 200 in GAD, 4 in Health and Medical Education and 19 posts in Department of Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. For the posts of junior scale stenographers, the eligibility sought by JKSSB reads: “Graduate with 60% marks from recognized University having a minimum speed of 65 words per minute in shorthand and 35 words per minute in type writing and having 6 month certificate course in computer application from a government recognized institu...

T&D losses in J&K continue to be highest in India so the center has reason to be expressed concern over it. Early Times Report Jammu, June 4: The subsidy offered by the government on various entities in Jammu and Kashmir are draining the public purse out with expenditure spiking from Rs 55 crore to whooping Rs 1304 crore, leaving the fiscal set-up of the erstwhile state in absolute disarray. Official document in possession of Early Times reveal that the expenditure on subsidy increased by Rs 1,249 crore from Rs 55 crore in 2014-15 to Rs 1,304 crore in 2018-19. Expenditure on subsidies during 2018-19 constituted two per cent of the Revenue Expenditure which is Rs 56,090 crore.
