Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 18: Despite the Ministry of Education (MoE) directing the higher education institutions to call off the online recruitment process, the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora conducted online interviews last week for the post of Registrar. As per the aspirants, the online interview was conducted without informing them in advance and the poor internet connection left them embarrassed as they couldn’t hear the experts properly neither they were audible to them. The interview notice [No, IUST/Reg/Adm/E/20/585 Dated 31-07-2020], a copy of which lies with Early Times, informed eligible candidates to be present in university Campus on 10th of August 2020. “It was nowhere mentioned in the interview notice or in call letter that the interview will be held through virtual mode,” an aspirant said. Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 18: The Jal Shakti Department in Jammu has allegedly failed to furnish mandatory appraisal reports to the Human Resource Management wing of the department for evaluating the performance of its staff. Sources told Early Times that the department has literally shown “non seriousness” in terms of submission of appraisal reports to HRM. These reports have to be furnished annually. Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 18: The COVID-19 death toll in Jammu & Kashmir reached 561 as 13 more people died due to virus in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, 434 fresh cases were reported today while as 590 more patients were discharged from hospitals today. Anantnag reported four fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by three deaths each in Srinagar, Budgam and Kupwara districts. So far 520 COVID-19 patients have died in Kashmir with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 41. Srinagar has highest number of casualties with 177 deaths.
