Dr Karan Singh ignores Jammu, worried about anti-nationals!
9/2/2016 11:50:24 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 2: Instead of protecting interests of the people of Jammu region, former Sadr-e-Riyasat and senior Congress leader, Dr Karan Singh is unfortunately toeing anti-Jammu line.
First Dr Karan Singh had ignored Jammu region during his speech in the Rajya Sabha on Kashmir situation and secondly during his visit to Kashmir Valley he has shown more interest in involving Hurriyat Conference in the dialogue process. Dr Singh has strongly advocated that all party delegation, which is scheduled to visit Kashmir next week, must hold dialogue with Hurriyat Conference.
Ironically, Dr Karan Singh has not uttered even a single word about wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Ladakh. While people of Jammu and Ladakh are vociferously demanding their inclusion in any dialogue process to solve Kashmir problem, Dr Karan Singh seems to be worried over Hurriyat Conference and other anti-national forces active in the Valley.
At a time when BJP has brazenly bartered Jammu wishes and aspirations for lust of power, people were hoping that political stalwarts like Dr Karan Singh and Ghulam Nabi Azad would protect Jammu's interests but unfortunately both leaders have failed to come up to the expectations of the people.
Meanwhile Dr Singh today met Governor N N Vohra and discussed various issues including steps needed to be taken to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
Singh met Vohra at Raj Bhavanhere and they discussed issues relating to the prevailing unrest and the steps which were required to be taken for the restoration of peace and normalcy in the state, an official statement said.
The Rajya Sabha member, who arrived here yesterday, said the situation in the Valley had pained him and he had come to share the pain of the people. "I wanted to come early but there was curfew here. I have come here to share the pain of the people. I am pained by the situation since the last two months. Many youth have lost life, hundreds have been injured, and business and tourism have come to a standstill," he told reporters at Sriangar on Thursday.
