JAMMU, Feb 10: After winning first three matches, J&K registered fourth straight win in the ongoing 40th Sub-Junior National Volleyball Championship for (boys & girls) at Chirava in Rajasthan In the fourth match played today, J&K team defeated Haryana by 3-1 (25-12, 24-26, 26-24, 25-23) sets. J&K team players namely Shaid, Pushvinder, Hemanshu, Shabir and Imtaiz displayed their magnificent skills and dominated the proceedings to achieve victory. Earlier, in first match, Jammu and Kashmir boys team defeated Chhattisgarh by 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-20), edged Jharkhand 3-1 (25-18, 25-12, 25-21) in second match and blanked Telangana by 3-1 (25-22, 25-16, 18-25, 25-19) in third game. Boys team will play next games against Rajasthan and Delhi for the qualification to quarterfinals. Appreciating the efforts of State players, coach of boys team Tariq Khan said, "Our team needs one more victory to enter into the knock out round." He added that the morale of the boys is very high and we hope that we will reach in the quarterfinal stage. Meanwhile, in girls section, Jammu and Kashmir team lost two matches in a row played today. In first match, Uttar Pradesh beat J&K by 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-15) in second match Bihar outplayed J&K 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-20). Now, in their next outings, J&K girls shall meet Delhi in Pool-D. Patron-in-Chief Volleyball Association of J&K, Raj Daluja, President, Sidharth Daluja and other office bearers sent good wishes to J&K team, Manager and Coach for brilliant performance in all matches by boys and wished best of luck for future games. |
