Fresh batch of terrorists waiting to infiltrate into Kashmir, warn intelligence agencies
6/16/2018 11:13:08 PM
Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, June 16: A huge number of terrorists are awaiting to infiltrate along the Line of Control (LoC), said sources on Saturday. At least 35 Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists are planning to infiltrate across four places in Jammu and Kashmir.
As many as 18 terrorists LeT terrorists are concentrating at Shardi opposite Machhil, sources said. Eight others are planning to launch an infiltration in Leepa, opposite Nawgam. While six of them are concentrating in Kalu Di Dheri located opposite to Poonch, three of the terrorists are planning to infiltrate in Kotli which is situated opposite to Bhimber Gali.
The fresh inputs regarding infiltration by Pakistan-backed terrorists comes a day after the state was dragged into grief following the cold-blooded killings of an Army rifleman and a journalist. June 14 turned out to be a Black Day in Jammu and Kashmir as the two deaths ahead of Eid. The body of Army jawan Aurangzeb was found hours after his abduction on Thursday. His bullet-ridden body was found by a team of police and Army at Gussu village, about 10-km away from Kalampora, in Pulwama district. He was shot in his head and neck.
Shujaat Bukhari, one of the leading journalists from J&K and editor-in-chief of the prestigious daily 'The Rising Kashmir', was assassinated by some unidentified miscreants outside his office at the Press Colony on Thursday evening.
Earlier this month, at least 450 terrorists were reportedly waiting to cross the border to launch attacks in the country. They had stationed in different launching pads in the Pakistan side of LoC, according to intelligence inputs sent to the centre.
Intelligence agencies had believe like last year, Lashkar backed terrorists are targeting the Amarnath Yatra to mount an attack on innocent pilgrims. This year, the Yatra started on May 28. Last year, 8 pilgrims were killed when a bus carrying travellers from Gujarat were attacked by terrorists.
Reports suggest that Ramzan truce extended by Centre had given breathing space to the terrorists to regroup, restrategise and hire new people among their flanks.
Home Ministry sources had also confirmed to Zee Media that Pakistan's Special Security Group (SSG) were present alongside the border to provide cover to the terrorists who are waiting to infiltrate by crossing the border.
The sectors where the terrorists are waiting to cross borders are Gurez, Machhil, Keran, Tangdhar, Naugam, Uri, Poonch, Bhimber Galli, Naushera and Rampur. Among these, Bhimber Galli is most vulnerable with 120 terrorists looking to infiltrate.
The surgical strike on September 29, 2016 saw Indian forces cross LoC and destroy launching pads in Pakistan.
Pakistan has always been involved in unprovoked firing from across the LoC, killing civilians and jawans. The Pakistan-based terror outfits have increased its efforts to infiltrate across the LoC from the Jammu region, sources had earlier said, presumably because of the heavy exchange of fire between Indian security forces and Pakistani regulars and irregulars in the Kashmir part of the LoC.
