TT Championship U-17 of Khelo India concludes

POONCH, Oct 16: Table Tennis championship under 17 age group of Khelo India organized by District Table Tennis Association Poonch, concluded. In Boys final Pratham beat Ridhik 11-9,11-8. Third prize won by Zaffer in Singles. In Boys double Anuj and Pratham beat Ridhik and Zaffer 11-9,11-6. Third prize in Boys doubles won by Nipun and Baljeet. In girls final Vanchika beat Suhani Bhalla 11-6,11-9. Third prize won by Bhoomi Kandhari in Singles. In Girls doubles, Vanshika and Bhoomi beat Suhani and Dayanshi 11-6,11-7. Third prize won by Pyanshi Kandhari and Anushka devi in girls doubles. General Secretary of the TT association Poonch, Saleem Bandey appealed the district administration for providing all types of facilities in indoor complex of sports stadium for table tennis. Bandey said that Poonch players have played at national level without any facility here and if administration provided all facilities, then Poonch table tennis players will get an opportunity to sharp their skills more for state and national level competitions.
On the occasion ADDC Poonch Abdul Hamid Sheikh was chief guest and Dy.SP HQ Nawaz Khaney was guest of honour. Principal Degree College Poonch Prof M.H Shah congratulated the organizers for organising T.T championship for youngsters under Khelo India. In his speech, DY.SP HQRS Nawaz Khandey highly appreciated the talent of young boys and girls and urged the Table Tennis association to give them proper coaching as these youngsters are future of India.
In his remarks, ADDC Poonch Abdul Hamid Sheikh said that Khelo India is an excellent initiative of Union government to make India a power in sports. He said that in every corner of the state, government is making huge efforts to identify talented players for giving them right platform to excel.
The matches were played under the supervision of Ajeet Singh Jeet, President District T.T Association, Dr Jasbir Singh, Salil Raina, Natinder Singh and Sandeep Luthra. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included K.K Kapoor, Advocate Sanjay Raina, Arun Kishore Raina SE, Gurmeet Singh Raja, Manmohan Suri, Jasbir Singh, Wazahat Bhukhari, J.B Singh, Anubhav Misri and Dhanuj Sharma.
