Sat starts construction works of Drains at Bhagwati Nagar

Jammu, Dec 6: Keeping in view of providing basic amenities to the masses of Jammu West at their doorsteps, Former Minister Sat Sharma (CA) started construction works of deep drains from Bhagwati Nagar area of Ward 14. Accompanied by Corporator of Ward 14 Pramod Kapahi and District President Ayodhya Gupta, Sharma started the works in the presence of a large number of people including officials of UEED (Urban Environmental Engineering Department) locals and political activists of the area. Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the work for construction of this Deep Drain was already in progress which started few days back from "AAPKA DAWA BAZAR", Canal Road and works went through the road connecting Guest House. He said today the works for the same have been started from Bhagwati Nagar area and construction will be done up to STP (Sewerage Treatment Plant), Bhagwati Nagar. He stated that the approximate length of construction of this Deep Drain project will be 2800 metres and a total cost of Rupees 5.20 crores will be spent on the same. He also stated that this was a long pending demand of locals and due to implementation of Code of Conduct in Municipal Elections, the works had to be stopped, but now keeping in view the sentiments of thousands of inhabitants in the area, the works are taken up in order to avoid public distress.
