Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is again under scanner as the recent declaration of KAS MAINS 2016 result has left out many deserving and meritorious aspirants.
The aggrieved aspirants organized a mass protest at JU and JKPSC office, Jammu against the recently declared result of KAS 2016 mains.
Many KAS aspirants have alleged that despite performing well in all their papers they were not in the list of aspirants shortlisted for Personality Interviews.
Aspirants have also alleged that there is a high chance of mass error in assessment of the answer scripts of various optional and GS papers.
An aspirant while interacting with the media mentioned that it's almost unbelievable that an aspirant who has appeared four times in the interview was not able to qualify KAS 2016 mains examination and that too in a situation where he/she not only performed well but the advertised posts were four times as compared to previous examination.
The result of KAS 2016 Mains examination was declared on 4th of December where JKPSC via a notification dated 4.12.2018 shortlisting 963 aspirants out of the total 6427 candidates who appeared in the examination.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the entire KAS 2016 examination process was challenged in High Court at every stage, citing discrepancies and irregularities in the entire recruitment process.
Already, in one of the Judgments of J&K High Court, DB, dated 13.03.2018 the entire KAS Mains Examination 2016 was quashed and in one the statement the Justice underscored the Section 133 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and made it clear that it is the duty of the Commission to conduct examinations for appointments to the services of the State, alleged aspirants.
A delegation of aggrieved KAS aspirants also met the Chairman and the Controller Examination, JKPSC and forwarded a representation in this regard, but he refuted all the allegations leveled by the aggrieved aspirants.
All the aggrieved aspirants have demanded that JKPSC must take strict cognizance of the matter and the entire result must be scrutinized.
They have also appealed to the Governor and PMO to intervene in this regard and order high level inquiry into the entire recruitment process of KAS 2016 Mains Examination.
The candidates reiterated that in case if all the demands of the deserving and meritorious aspirants were not met , they shall knock the doors of Supreme Court.
