| Intel inputs about possible threat to J&K BJP leaders | | | |

An intelligence input has been passed on to the Jammu and Kashmir police about a possible threat to some BJP leaders including its president Ravinder Raina, officials said Saturday.
Inspector General of Police (Jammu range) M K Sinha said they have got the security inputs and are looking into it.
Security alerts have been sent to the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Rajouri districts and range officers for necessary action and precaution.
Raina, an RSS pracharak who was appointed as the state BJP head last year, is already a state government protectee.

Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday appointed RK Chhibber as the interim chairman and the Director on the Board of Directors of the J&K Bank.
Chhibber will replace Pervez Ahmad, who was appointed in 2016 as the chairman of the bank.
In an order issued on Saturday, the government said: “Parvez Ahmad, Chairman cum Managing Director, shall cease to be Director on the Board of Directors of the Bank and consequently be no longer the Chairman cum Managing Director of the bank.”

All it took for a blood sample to reach a place 30 kilometers away was a drone and just 18 minutes.
In a first-of-its kind experiment conducted on Friday in Uttarakhand, a drone carrying a blood sample was sent from a district hospital in Nandgaon to another primary health centre in Tehri. As the experiment was successful, it might turn out to be a big step for health services in India.
The drone covered a distance between of 30 km between Nandgaon and Tehri in approximately 18 minutes. This means that the drone was quick enough to travel at the speed of 100 km per hour.

| | | | Jaish-e-Muhammad militant killed in gunfight in Anantnag district | | | | Srinagar, June 8 One Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militant was killed on Saturday in a gunfight with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.
According to police sources, the slain militant has been identified as Iqbal Ahmad of Anantnag’s Dooru area. The gunfight took place in Nowgam village of Verinag area.
“The militant’s body has been recovered. Search operation is still going on in the area,” the sources added.
The gunfight occurred after the militants fired at the security forces who were carrying out a search and cordon operation in the area.
“Reinforcements have been rushed to the area to trace the militants,” the police sources said.

NEW DELHI: A Bill to replace the ordinance to give reservation benefits for education, jobs and promotion to the scheduled castes and tribes, and to the economically weaker sections in Jammu & Kashmir is likely to be introduced in the upcoming session of Parliament.
The government had issued the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019 in February. It is working on the Bill even as the Jammu & Kashmir High Court has issued notices to the Centre and state, seeking their replies by July 10 on a petition challenging the ordinance.
